Current Status

Our first production-scale project is near La Veta, in rural Huerfano County, Colorado.

  • In April 2023 we began County and State permitting.
  • In July 2023 we welcomed the Carbon Containment Lab of New Haven, CT to conduct wood decomposition field experiments on the site.
  • We have engaged the community in a Community Benefit Agreement to provide higher than average wages, scholarships for underserved populations, and workforce development placements.
  • We are developing the site, cutting a short road, installing a shed with electronics and solar power, and preparing our MRV system.
  • We’ve secured sustainably sourced wastewood from the nearby Spanish Peaks.
  • We’ve organized a labor force to cut, remove, transport, excavate and fill.
  • We are pursuing a “Preliminary Approval” from Puro to ensure certification shortly after project completion.
